About the event
"It is both an honor and a responsibility to share my experience as a member of the Mahican-Munsee people retuning to our ancestral lands where our tribe flourished for tens of thousands of years.
Through war, colonization, and forced removal, our people were pushed from those homelands and nearly erased from public memory, but we are still here! Returning to our ancestral lands brings a deep sense of belonging that is hard to put into words.
The land holds the bones and prayers of countless generations; the land still remembers us! Since my 1st visit in 2004, I have done my best to bring more Tribal members back home!"
